The Harvard Undergraduate Baroque Chamber Orchestra invites you to a workshop and conversation with violinist Augusta McKay Lodge about the principles of historically-informed performance: how musicians use instruments, bows, tuning, articulation, and musical rhetoric to explore how music from the 17th-18th centuries might originally have sounded.

Everyone is welcome to attend and observe - no prior experience with old music is required!

Augusta is a Juilliard-trained violinist who performs internationally as a soloist, chamber musician, director, and concertmaster. She appears regularly with leading ensembles including Les Arts Florissants and Voices of Music, and has performed at Alice Tully Hall, the BBC Proms at Royal Albert Hall, the Edinburgh Festival, and major early-music festivals throughout Europe and North America.
